Oparkrwoth Edmond commonly known by his stage name Edomo welly is a Ugandan Afro dancehall artist born on 5th.October.1998 to a humble family of Mr.Agenorwoth Charles and Mrs. piratekirwoth Christine
He started his education background in 2004 where he started his education at Dei primary school in panyimur sub-county up to 2010 where he completed primary education in 2011. He faced some financial challenges which made him to stay at home for some period of time at home as he was helping his father in his small business to help him raise school fees for his further studies.
After getting some money, he proceeded to secondary level where he joined Mandela senior secondary school in Hoima in senior one and two respectively.
He later transferred to Bethany high school in Kampala where he completed his ‘O’ level in 2018 and he currently joined Emma High school for ‘A’ LEVEL.
MUSIC CAREER
During his young age, he had so much love for music in that he could spend a lot of time listening to music whenever his Father tuned on his radio in the evening. At times he mobilized, gathered and organized his fellow kids to actually have some fun while singing and dancing. This way, they had fun and enjoyed themselves as young boys and girls.
Edomo welly later joined the Sunday School Choir of his Church where they were taught how to sing and dance. Though he was quite shy and afraid of standing before the whole Church, he tried his level best to do something among his fellow children. His mother always encouraged him to throw away fear and act boldly like a man and that boys are never fearful in life. However he gained courage slowly by slowly and actually began doing things well as required of him. Following his success in the Sunday School Choir, he was among the selected boys and girls to join the Church Choir where he started also very well and as a result, he grew more love for music. However he later lost the moral in the Choir after being slapped seriously by one of the big girls who claimed he wasn’t dancing in the right way he could have. So, he quickly jumped out of the line with a lot of annoyance and tears rolling down his cheeks in disappointment.
Lucky enough, he met a music teacher in primary three at Kasato Parents who taught him music and made him grow much love for in spite of the teacher’s toughness when teaching music as a subject.
As time went on, he reached a time where he could combine words to form a song. He did this whenever he developed that feeling of singing though he was at times demoralized by his friends who could tell him again and again that his voice wasn’t good for singing but he kept on.
He actually remembered of writing some of the songs that he could compose by primary seven and he realized that he could fill the whole book if he was serious.
He couldn’t go to the studio by that time to record any those songs that he had written until his senior three when he collected some money to go to the studio and just try out how his voice could come out. Lucky enough, the voice wasn’t as that he imagined and however some people appreciated the song and from there he convinced himself according to people’s comments that he can also make it and later grew a stronger spirit in music.
He had his great friend commonly known by his stage name “Chrises Dollar”, with whom he grew up with so closely and also had great passion for music. They formed a music crew and it was called, (JB) Jobless Billionaires by 2015 and later renamed it (YDM) Young Dream Music in 2017. (YDM) came to be known all over within his home place and even in the schools he had been to, his schoolmates could entice him into performing whenever there was any function in the school and this made him gain fame in High Schools that he attended to.
His father wasn’t pleased at all with his idea of joining the music industry because he knew that would deviate his mind away from his studies since he was just the only one studying after his two elder brothers dropping out of school. He was the only hope left in the family and because of that, his Father one time told him during his senior two that if I’m only paying school fees for you just to become a musician, you better tell me so that I can use my money for any other thing or simply educate your other siblings. However, Edomo was someone who loved school so much in that he never at all felt fine whenever he missed school for just a single day even though he was sick.
His Father could at times tempt him by giving him his own school fees to go and pay or just to see if he could use it for recording music but he proved himself good enough to go.
With the good results that he always brought home at the end of the term, his father stopped blaming him for the music staff and that gave him courage to go on because his father was his greatest fear. After a while, his mother got concerned and went asking his friends for any of his music because she had the rumors that he had songs that he had recorded and actually kept out of the reach of their ears. But she ended up appreciating and said it was useless to hide because his father already knew that he was doing music and that for really how long shall he keep that way? From there he even started by releasing a video of a song entitled “I was born to love you” and this video did quite well though it was just his first video but later after a period of one month, he also released a video of a song entitled “Ugandan Muzungu” which was highly loved and appreciated by many who had not yet believed in him.
