Veronica Luggya a.k.a Vinka, made her big step towards her music career yesterday by signing a record deal with Sony Music.
Her management Swangz Avenue confirmed by the news.
Vinka became a music household name in Uganda in 2017 when Irene Ntale parted ways with Swangz Avenue.
She was Irene Ntale's manager by then but Swangz then brought her in to replace Ntale as an artist.
Vinka’s addition to Sony comes after Nigeria’s Tiwa Savage put pen to paper and joined rival music label – Universal Music. The Ugandan joins Wizkid and Davido at Sony which seems like a counter move against their rivals.
Sources at Swangz Avenue revealed that unlike with other African artists signed to Sony, Vinka will retain her management, something which both parties have been discussing for over 2 months.
Sony agreed to let Vinka work with her Swangz management on the artist strategy because they understand the artist and her market better.
