Edward Kyeyune alias Ed Cheune, has been put behind bars by Internal Security Organisation (ISO) over obtaining money through false pretense.
Cheune, the late Ivan Ssemwanga’s brother, was arrested on Monday.
As part of the infamous Rich Gang, Cheune and crew are more recognizable for splashing money in clubs and holding the Rich Gang party at the upscale Guvnor club. He has been lying low since his brother passed on tin 2017.
The main witness in Cheune’s case is Nalongo Maggie Kiweesi, the widow of singer AK 47.
Maggie Kiweesi also pinned the pencil sized ‘moneybags’ Isaac Nduhukire alias Don Nasser, who was smoked out of a ceiling on November 20, 2018, by Police.
This after she alleged that Nasser had used her as bait to con a Dubai-based businesswoman of Shs18billion through a fake gold trading deal.
Nasser was also accused American businessman Jonny Hill of conning him over Ush5.5 billion in a gold deal gone bad.
Cheune joins the long list of ‘rich’ socialites and money bags facing the law over obtaining money in false pretence including SK Mbuga and his wife Vivienne.
Last year, the socialite added a monster GLE Mercedes AMG, 2018 model to his fleet of cars. The car cost about Shs400M.
