DJ Tonix, a popular DJ based in Panyimur, is under police investigation after an accolade belonging to Kabon and Deconz went missing during the inaugural Jonam Music Awards held at Nzuri Lounge in Pakwach Town Council, Pakwach District.
Tonix reportedly collected the accolade along with a friend identified only as Don, claiming they were picking it on behalf of Kabon and Deconz. However, the accolade later went missing under unclear circumstances.
“I left the accolade with Don when I went to perform,” DJ Tonix told this website. “When I returned, he was intoxicated, and both his phone and the accolade were gone.”
The incident has sparked frustration among the nominees involved.
On April 9, 2025, Deconz shared his disappointment in a WhatsApp message, stating, “I can't believe up to now, I don't have my accolade.”
He explained he was unable to attend the ceremony due to work obligations and expressed regret that the award should have been given to Rajj Mc, who performed at the event.
Kabon had also cited transport challenges as the reason for his absence from the ceremony. According to DJ Tonix, both he and Don took the responsibility of receiving the accolades on behalf of their their fellow natives.
The Jonam Music Awards 2024 were organized by Silver Events and Marketing Agency to recognize artists who sang and lived in Pakwach District during the year. Erick Silver, CEO of the agency, expressed disappointment over the incident and urged for more accountability in future events.
The police are currently investigating the matter to establish the whereabouts of the missing accolade.
