Heavenz Man, a rising star in the Alur music industry, has called on the government to expedite rural electrification and improve network connectivity in remote areas of the West Nile region.
Speaking on the Daily Fix Podcast UG, Heavenz noted that while West Nile was connected to the national power grid in 2024 by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, many rural areas remain without electricity.
"Despite this connection to the national grid, most rural areas lack electricity. The network issues are even worse, making it unbearable for locals to access basic services like internet and even makingcalls," he said.
'That Boy from Panyigoro, emphasized that the limited access to electricity and reliable internet connectivity hinders locals from streaming west nile music or watching TV, forcing them to rely solely on radio.
"These factors prevent our music consumers from accessing our content online. As a result, they end up sticking to radio, which leaves streaming platforms and TV out of the picture," Heavenz explained.
Heavenz Man, who also calls himself "Gugu Gaga" as a producer and "Heavenz Beat" as a sound engineer, started his music journey in 2018.
He honed his skills through production training in Kampala after completing his Advance Level in Education and has since received praise from established Alur artists such as Bushy and Elton Loverboy for his quality production work.
Heavenz believes that urban music touches like his can elevate Alur music to new heights, but the lack of infrastructure remains a significant barrier.
"Alur music has immense potential, but for it to thrive, the government must ensure that rural communities are connected to electricity and reliable network coverage," he said.
Pakwach District, which comprises ten lower local governments, still has areas without electricity including, Panyango, Pokwero, Ragem, Wadelai, Pakwach Subcounty.
Heavenz hopes that addressing these infrastructure gaps will enhance the accessibility and growth of the region's music industry and social services.
Heavenz has worked with several artistes in Uganda including; Eezy De Lyrical, Elton Loverboy, Small Rappa, Don Popular, Boi Friendz among others from Central and Western Uganda.
