The renowned Alur music star Lucky Dee is mourning the loss of his father, who passed away this morning, December 19, 2024.
The late, commonly known as "Funga Ro," a well-known driver in Nebbi, had been battling a long illness. He passed away at Nebbi General Hospital after being unable to speak for about "five days".
Efforts to reach Lucky Dee for a comment were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls. However, West Nile TV presenter Mc Sajj, who first broke the news on his WhatsApp status, shared a tribute: “Papa Lucky Dee, may your soul rest in peace.” In a phone call, Mc Sajj confirmed that he had been in touch with Lucky Dee regarding the matter.
Lucky Dee’s close associates have also confirmed the tragic news. Akim Kawa, a family friend who was once acting as a manager to Lucky Dee, stated, “Muzee passed away today, and we are here with mourners for other arrangements.”
Similarly, Mars Di Gunter, a signee under Lucky Dee’s Trouble Base label, said, “He passed away this morning. May his soul rest in peace.”
The late Funga Roo was a respected figure in Nebbi, known not only for his profession but also for his role in nurturing and supporting Lucky Dee’s musical and Driving journey.
His demise has left a dent that will be deeply felt by family, friends, and the larger Alur community.
