Artistes scheduled to perform at the Traffic Light Party in Ojigo, Wadelai Sub-county, Pakwach District, will be required to take an alternative route to reach the venue due to disrupted road access.

The event, set to light up Topaz Lounge in Ojigo Center this evening, Thursday, 28th November 2024, will feature performances by Vano Vino, Miray, Rolling Snake, and Smart Eddy.

MC Romano, the event's organizer, revealed that the artistes will travel via Madi Okollo, while others residing in Pakwach Town have had to find alternative paths.

He explained, “A portion of the road near Wadelai, especially in the area behind Ojigo Prison, has been cut off, making access difficult.”

This isn’t the first time the route to the venue has posed challenges. When Astro Lifa organized an event at the same venue earlier this year, artistes like Elton and Mwozey Stylo also had to navigate the Madi Okollo route.

Conversely, those who attempted to use the shorter, flood-prone route, including Mally Whine and his team, faced accidents and injuries.

The current rainy season has exacerbated the situation, with heavy downpours causing widespread flooding, making many roads impassable.

Allan Sempewo, the Public Relations Officer of the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA), has urged road users to exercise caution. “Avoid flooded roads and seek alternative routes,” he advised, adding that it is safer to wait for floodwaters to subside before traveling.

The Traffic Light Party promises to be a vibrant event despite these challenges, with organizers working to ensure the artistes and audience enjoy a memorable experience.
