The Presidential Advisor on Cultural Affairs and celebrated musician, Bosmic Otim, has officially canceled his scheduled show in Nebbi Municipality.

The show was initially set to take place on November 29, 2024, the same day as the Astro Lifa Music Carnival.

In a public announcement, Bosmic Otim addressed the growing criticism from fans of Alur music, particularly supporters of Astro Lifa.

In a short video circulating on social media, he stated, “I will not be holding any show in Nebbi. We leave the day free for the young one. I will instead perform the following day, Saturday, in Paidha.”

Posters promoting Bosmic Otim and MC Ever Young’s West Nile Tour began circulating on November 26, 2024.

The tour was set to kick off on November 29 at Jam Vibes Club in Nebbi, followed by performances in Pakwach at Mama Africa Leisure Center and Zombo District.

Bosmic, the Nile Republic Music boss, explained that his decision to reschedule was motivated by a desire to foster growth in the music, arts, and cultural sectors.

“We do this for the love of the industry and culture. Good luck,” he remarked, sending his best wishes to Astro Lifa.

Astro Lifa, the host of the Astro Lifa Music Carnival, responded positively to Bosmic's gesture. Sharing Bosmic’s video on his social media platforms, Astro Lifa wrote, “Big Man is speaking... Thanks, Papa.”

W’Ojok Dekoda, a fellow artist and uncle to Astro Lifa, also weighed in, emphasizing the unity within the Alur music community, saying, “Power of love, unity, and peace.”

Manager Prince, a close associate of Bosmic Otim, shared similar sentiments, adding, “Astro Lifa, the boss has spoken.”

Bosmic Otim’s gesture comes shortly after his performance at the Alur Cultural Festival on November 24, one of the most prominent events celebrating Alur culture and music.

Observers believe his recent re-engagement with the Alur music community signals a renewed commitment to his West Nile fan base after years of limited appearances in the region.

This decision has sparked widespread appreciation, as many see it as a step toward strengthening the bonds between artists and promoting unity w

ithin the music industry.
