As patriots from West Nile gathered to celebrate the Alur Cultural Festival on 24th November 2024, Disk Jockey, 'DJ Rogerscho,' took a significant step to promote Alur music and gain experience from renowned media platforms; Next Radio and Pulse Radio
The Pakwach-based DJ, who also works with Pakwach FM, made a notable appearance on Next Radio on the eve of the festival, 23rd November 2024. During the Saturday night show, Rogerscho was hosted alongside another DJ from Masaka District.
"I was the main DJ, playing music from 10 PM to 2 AM," Rogerscho shared, describing his experience as one of the highlights of his career.
When asked about his impressions of the platform, he stated, "It's similar to what we do on our radios back in West Nile, except here, they operate throughout the night. They also give DJs the freedom to focus on their work without asking too many questions."
Rogerscho's exposure extended beyond Next Radio, as he visited the NBS After 5 studio, facilitated by a connection with a friend working at the station.
"I’m grateful for the opportunity. I even had a chance to play some Alur music ahead of the Alur Cultural Festival," he remarked.
His efforts not only spotlighted Alur music on a larger stage but also underscored the potential for collaboration and cultural exchange within the Ugandan music industry.
