Niga X Pomba made history on Friday, October 26, 2024, at the Uganda-DRC border in Dei Sub-County, Pakwach District, with a concert that drew massive fans from both countries.

The event, dubbed the "Niga X Pomba Concert," showcased the vibrant Alur music culture and attracted an enthusiastic crowd, demonstrating the strong cross-border appeal of his music and the Alur community.

Highlighting the concert’s impact, a well-known businessman from the DRC, Tekno International, praised the gathering, calling it a powerful display of cultural unity.

“This event brought us together, sharing the precious culture and love that we have as Alur people across borders,” he said, adding that it was more than just a musical event—it was a celebration of tranquility and brotherhood.

During his performance, Niga X Pomba captivated the crowd by reflecting on his dual connection to Uganda and the DRC.

“I really don’t know where I belong, but let me tell you, whichever side loves me, I belong there,” he stated.

In an emotional gesture, he invited his mother to "join him on stage", kneeling to express his gratitude for her support in his musical journey.

The concert featured an impressive lineup of artists who energized the crowd, including Elton Loverboy, Rasta Longe, Astro Lifa, Starboy Junior, Kyali Pro, Os Touch, and Slim Diva. This roster underscored the unity and talent within Alur music, which resonates deeply across the Uganda-DRC border.

Earlier this year, local promoters within Dei voiced concerns over the decline in showbiz and Stage music performances in the region.

Now, there's hope that the concert would renew interest in the region’s entertainment scene.

Upcoming shows are already in the works, with Mr. Yeah Lion Man’s "Angara Makwang" and I Steve Hero Boy’s event planned for early or mid-2025.

Currently, notable artists shaping Dei’s music landscape include Jabirunga, Niga X Pomba, Lion Man, I Steve, and Os Touch, who are all committed to sustaining the

legacy of Alur music.
