Alur's song Bird, Maya Keys has joined forces with legendary Alur musician Giddy Roch for a remix of his popular song 'Dhanu Mitu Ango.'

This collaboration comes as Giddy Roch aims to make a comeback after a prolonged hiatus from the music scene.

As part of the struggles, early this month (August 3rd, 2024), Giddy Roch and his team organized a concert titled "The Return of Giddy", which took place at Grace Guest House II in Goli.

The event aimed to reestablish Giddy's presence in both the Alur and Ugandan music scenes and featured performances from numerous local artists.

Reflecting on the collaboration, Maya Keys mentioned that it was a strategic decision made by her management team.

"My manager facilitated the connection, and I feel good about the project. It's been a while since people have heard Giddy's work," she said.

Marcus Stanley, the manager of Stars Avenue—the label Maya Keys is signed to—praised Giddy Roch's talent, emphasizing the significance of the remix.

"Giddy is a well-known figure in the Alur community. This project is intended to give him the support he needs to reclaim his place in the industry," Stanley said.

He added, "Helping someone doesn’t always mean giving money. As the saying goes, give them a fishing net, not just the fish."

Stanley believes the remix will benefit both artists, noting that 'Dhanu Mitu Ango' has long been a fan favorite.

Efforts to reach Giddy Roch for a comment were unsuccessful, as his known contact number was unreachable at the time of reporting.

The remix was produced at DCN Records in Nebbi by producer Dee Pan, who praised both artists for their performance on the track.

Dee Pan explained that the project has been delayed due to technical issues on his end, stating that he is currently "in Kampala repairing his computer but expects to return to Nebbi by the weekend to complete the project."

While the release date for the remix has not yet been announced, the song has already started gaining traction on TikTok and other social media platforms.
