Bushy Da King has expressed strong disapproval towards Alur artists who failed to perform at Nyamutoro Phiona's Thanksgiving Ceremony held on Saturday, 3rd August 2024, at Nebbi SS Playground, commonly known as Luo Ground.

On the morning of Sunday, 4th August 2024, Bushy expressed his dissatisfaction with these artists, accusing them of being insincere about their reasons for not performing.

He claimed that such artists reject opportunities to perform due to the low payment offered, only to later contact event organizers privately, requesting to perform for the same amount.

"You refuse to perform because the money is small in front of people, yet behind doors, you are calling and begging to perform for the small money," Bushy wrote on his WhatsApp Status Updates.

The 'Adegi' Hit Maker further criticized the artists, suggesting that they were merely seeking attention and public sympathy.

"People are really looking for attention and news," he added in his status updates and shortly deleted the status.

Before the event, a section of local artists had expressed their grievances over the small payments offered by the organizers, threatening to boycott the LERU PA NEBBI Thanksgiving Ceremony.

They said the organizers were planning to offer them Penny, yet artists coming from KLA will be paid hefty.

However, these allegations were refuted by the newly formed Association for Performing Artists (Alur Entertainers Association).

Notable artists who did not perform included Gravity Omutujju, Fik Fameica, Riaso Boy, Elton Loverboy, and Zil Zil. Despite their absence, several other artists, whose names were not listed among the top performers, took to the stage.

Initially, the lineup of local artists expected to perform included Astro Lifa, Bush Boy, Maya Keys, Rasta Longe, Joanitah D Gyal, Elton Loverboy, Brayo, and Riaso Boy.

However, Brayo, Joanitah D Gyal, and Rasta Longe were later excluded from the official poster. Despite this, Rasta Longe and Joanitah D Gyal performed alongside other local artists not featured on the poster.

Meanwhile, artists from Pakwach and Zombo Districts, including Lucky Dee, were not included in the event and did not perform.

Bushy Da King performed second to last, joining Kenzo, Nyamutoro, and other politicians to conclude the show with a fireworks display that lasted over 10 minutes.

Bushy is known for his willingness to perform at such events regardless of financial or other considerations, which has sparked growing mixed reactions within the entertainment fraternity.

Some critics argue that his actions devalue the industry, while others commend his ability to connect with people.
