Musicians in Arua city are in tears for their music industry due to the low turn for local shows.
This was after one of the much anticipated Duo Concert by Gbaraspoken and Loveson Controlla failed to register success even after a massive advert. The concert managed to attract less than 200 revellers, something that shocked the industry.
TK Love, a radio presenter with Arua One Fm says, he blames the low turn up on the general public, some bad-hearted events promoters and Club Deejays who have played a big role in failing the industry. He says, most of the Deejays in Arua do not want to play songs from artists coming from Arua. They always play songs from Central, Northern Uganda and Western Songs. He further says, the shocking part of these Deejays, they would rather fight to play fresh song releases from Central than from their own home artistes. Adding that, some events promoters have made it a habit to discredit talents and pay them penny nuts whenever they hold events while paying others mega sums of money.
In a long post on his Facebook page, TK pleaded with the Deejays , general public and the entire stakeholders of Arua music industry to embrace home talents.
